Jan Thorpe

Jan is an experienced public speaker and trainer. For the last five years she has been a member of Toastmasters International and has been Vice President of Education and President of a local Speakers club - affiliated to Toastmasters International. She was recently invited to Luxembourg to share her expertise and assist colleagues in setting up a toastmasters club there. She has also founded a new club in the Dorchester area and is currently Area Governor, which involves looking after an additional 4 clubs and includes organizing bi-annual inter-club training and competitions.

For 8 years Jan worked as a trainer in a large corporation. She now facilitates public speaking seminars. She also gives motivational speeches and delivers confidence building courses. All courses are certified by CDP service.

Jan has a degree in scriptwriting for film and television, (B.A (Hons) SFTV) and thus fully appreciates the difference between the spoken and written word. This understanding gives her the insight to write personalized and unique speeches that are written for the ear and do not sound as if they are being read from a book.
