What we do to help with your Wedding Speech

How Does it Work?

We send you a detailed questionnaire. Once this is completed by you and returned to us, we write a personalised speech based on information provided. Speeches are not computer generated. They are tailored to your exact requirements. Whilst convention lays out the usual order of speeches and expected content, more and more weddings today do not follow the norm. There may be for example, a best woman instead of a best man. The father of the bride may not be present or may not wish to speak. He may select someone else to carry out this honour for him. We will take all these factors into consideration when writing your speech.

What do you get?

The speech we write for you will include alternate lines or jokes for you to select, so that you can feel 100% comfortable. We will provide you with mnemonic devices to aid memory – for example: "BE SMART - Be Sentimental, Memorable, Amusing, Rehearsed, Triumphant". You will also receive prompt cards. These are bound together and will help you to memorise the logical progression of your talk. Apart from the key word, these will be blank for you to complete, enabling you to use words you will remember. A short well crafted speech is far better than a long oration, so we will make sure that the duration is right for you. You will also receive general instructions outlining your duties for the day and tips on public speaking. If you chose a quote or a poem, we can provide you with a framed copy of this which you can keep as a memento of the day.

Why do you need us?

Because most of us never need to stand up in front of an audience to deliver a speech. We speak with ease in the pub when telling a joke after a few drinks, but this is a far cry from giving a really good, memorable public speech. Even famous, experienced actors suffer with nerves and stage fright. We can take away the stress of worrying about the words you are about to deliver. When the words are right you are off to a flying start.

What if someone drops a glass while I’m speaking?

You will be provided with a list of ‘off the cuff’ remarks to cover unexpected events. You only have to select the most appropriate for the moment.

What else can we do to help?

If you are worried about the delivery of your speech, we are able to offer coaching. This will allow you to practice your public speaking skills and make sure that you really are confident on the big day. If it is not possible for us to meet in person, we can supply you with detailed notes to read at home.

How Long does it take?

Most speeches will take 10 – 14 days for us to write. Exceptions can be made depending on our schedule.
